Reflecting on our past

Every bottle tells a story

– GLENDALE RIDGE VINEYARD

We believe in cultivating an experience. Telling a story with our wine that encompasses the spirit of the vineyard, the history of our land, and the careful attention of the winemaker’s hand.

1992

Ed and Mary Hamel purchase the Sankey Farm future home of Glendale Ridge Vineyard and begin the dream of preserving the land through an active farming project.

2010

The first grapes are planted in the West Block. We begin with a trial vineyard with rows of Riesling, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and more.

2012

Our second planting, an acre of Cabernet Franc is planted across the street, just below the West Block.

2013

Our most recent planting is the Nonotuck Block, three acres named for our favorite peak that our vineyards overlook. The block is split equally with Vidal Blanc, Traminette and Corot Noir.

2014

Glendale Ridge Vineyard is a place to celebrate life with family. Our grandson, Max, shares in our harvest.

2017

The Glendale Ridge brand is born to celebrate our connection with the land, the vines, the ridge and the moon.
